Bobby McFerrin Decides to Take Time Off
You know, if I started growing dreads then, I’d have hair down to my ass.
Seriously, did anyone know he was still working?
For years he’s been telling people, "Don’t Worry, Be Happy." Now Bobby McFerrin has decided it’s time to take his own advice…
"I haven’t had a sabbatical, I haven’t taken a year off from touring in 15 years at least," said McFerrin, whose bright and bouncy ditty, "Don’t Worry, Be Happy," seemed to put his name on everybody’s lips in 1988 when it won Grammys for song of the year and record of the year.
Granted, I knew McFerrin has been continously making music; I have a few CDs to prove it, but since when did he become the hardest working man in show business? I have family that routinely goes to shows and buys music. They’ve barely thought of McFerrin in this millenium. Is his taking some time off really the worth being the headlining story of entertainment news?
